ive been given the above machine it keeps knotting up underneath despite trying everything in the book to fix the problem. I wonder how much it would be to have a look at it and see if its cost effective to repair.

the drive wheel no longer turns the main wheel maybe down to the belt being to loose

not functioning properly very noisy

i need a pedal and power lead to see if it works. if it does then a service and bobbins and needles straight and zig zag feet

im looking to but a brother sewing machine off gumtree they call it jones brother jones sewing machine . and say it needs a service as it hasnt been used in a while. how much roughly would that cost it affects whether I buy it or not

silver x I think it is the cam belt as I cannot get the needle to go up and down. tried cleaning lint out of bobbin bit, but oil in the little holes, changed tension but no better. not sure if you are working during these strange times but if you are perhaps you could give me a rough idea of cost. I am sure it is not a terribly expensive machine so may not be worth mending it. having said that I am rather fond of it.

the tension is very loose whenever I sew anything masses of thread cobbles up underneath the fabric. I have followed the manual and checked settings but nothing seems to work. it is an old machine but worked well until recently and I am sure it is better than many modern ones.
