quotation for the service of 15 x machines.

working fine then suddenly slowed and became laboured and noisy while sewing. gradually pthe needle moved slower and machine became noisier. tension and stitching fine throughout. but the needle was so stiff when moving up and down I stopped. machine is approx 34 years old.

there seems to be numerous faults sorting one appears to create a new problem. at the moment I am trying to sew button holes but the needle keeps hitting the needle plate. other problems fluctuate between needle breaking tension problems loose threads loops and knotting underneath bobbin thread and missing stitches. I have cleaned the machine the best that I can and have tried a new bobbin case as the previous one looked as though it had been punctured by the needle numerous times. however the needle is still hitting the plate.

hi I was donated a sewing machine as above to use for a charity I am working with called suited and booted in the city. I tried it out for the first time today started ok but then stopped and sounded like the motar was struggling when I put my foot down. as the charity does not endless supply of funds do you think it is worth having a look in terms of just needs a service or could it be an expensive repair appreciate any advice you can give. thank you

i am a man who uses this sewing machine very occasionally to make repairs to non clothing items such as curtains or car upholstery. I am no seamstress and dont really know what im doing I have not attempted to use the machine for anything more complicated than a straight forward running stitch. with the stitch length selector set to maximum or any other setting the footplate does not seem to advance hardly at all between stitches although when I depress the reverse selector the footplate does then advance as it should in the opposite direction. this fault developed immediately after I managed to get a whole load of thread jammed up in the bobbin area not really knowing what im doing and although I have cleared as much out as I can see there may be more stuck further in could that be causing the problem the machine is very old and probably not worth much at all but if it would be a cheap fix I would prefer not to have to buy another one. I am a bus driver so am unable to receive telephone calls during the day an email would be preferable. thanks alan.
